Deep, engaging problem-solving for elementary students — building number sense, mathematical reasoning, and the habit of sticking with hard problems.
Book a free intro session →This class uses a structured foundations curriculum that goes beyond standard school work. It is ideal for roughly Grades 2–5 (sometimes 6) and for families who want their child to find maths interesting, not just manageable.
The curriculum is colourful and engaging, but the underlying skills are real: strong number sense, careful reading of word problems, early algebraic thinking, and the habit of sticking with problems that don't yield on the first try. Students who work through the upper levels build a solid foundation for whatever comes next.
This class works well for:
Most lessons start by reviewing the topics and puzzles the student has been working on, revisiting anything that was confusing, and then moving on to new ideas together.
If the student is using the Practice books, we bring in questions they circled, skipped, or weren't sure about. Class time is for the interesting parts: untangling hard problems, trying different approaches, and noticing the clever ideas behind the puzzles. It feels more like playing with maths than doing another worksheet.
Between lessons, students work in short bursts on their own — usually 15–30 minutes a few times a week. At the next session, we look at what they've done, sort out the hard parts, and move forward.
We use Beast Academy as the primary curriculum source. It is colourful, well-structured, and one of the best resources available for this age group.
